Arboleda
Mass Timber System
Arboleda, the first hybrid office building in Uruguay.
A project that integrates the Mass Timber system with a concrete core, demonstrating how structural wood can complement and coexist with other construction systems.
It is a corporate building with three levels plus a basement, with a total surface area of 1,973 m². The basement is designated for parking, while the ground floor and first level each have 984 m². The second level, smaller in scale, covers 286 m². Additionally, the project incorporates private green areas, both on the ground floor and on the rooftops of the first level, enhancing spatial quality and strengthening the connection with the surroundings.
The project is developed on a reinforced concrete base that extends up to the slab above the basement. From that point on, a complete timber structure is assembled: columns, beams, frames, and slabs in CLT (291 m³) and GLT (199 m³).
The technical core (stairs, elevator, and restrooms) is also executed in concrete.
At Enkel Smart Building, we are responsible for the full assembly of the Mass Timber system.
Arboleda is a clear example of how timber structures can integrate with traditional systems—not replacing them, but working alongside them—to optimize construction time, improve energy efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact of the project.
