10-story NHERI Project

Mass Timber is a world of constant research and study. Being relatively new compared to other traditional building systems, it is important to always keep up to date. Today we show you a very interesting case study carried out in California: the 10-story NHERI project. The building is composed of CLT, GLT, DLT, NLT, VLT and MPP, and is built on a specially designed vibrating foundation to test the strength of the building structure. For the test the structure will be shaken using data to replicate magnitudes similar to those of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. This experiment represents a major step in helping to promote construction in Mass Timber.
